482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa will be renamed to Skill in Demand visa. There will be 3 streams – Specialist Skill stream, Core Skill stream and the Labour Agreement stream. There are more occupations related to cybersecurity, agriculture research scientist, data scientist, trades and technicians.

The occupations that remain on the list include those in the medical field – nurse, doctors, occupational therapist, physiotherapist etc., engineers, business (CEO, Manager of sales and marketing) etc.

There are no major changes to Hong Kong citizens to either the study pathway 500 student + 485 (temporary graduate) and the only change to the 482 is the naming of the visa. The only exception being that if you are a cybersecurity specialist, which is on the core skilled list, you can change employers, otherwise you must remain with the same employer until you are granted Permanent Residency.
