Student visa tips:
– Must have Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), offer letters are no longer valid
– Overseas student health cover (OSHC) requirements have not changed
– If applying for student visas, please apply offshore, i.e. in Hong Kong, not in Australia
– It is no longer possible to apply for an ETA and then apply for a student visa onshore
– Australian institutions are now “prioritised” according to tiers. Those TAFE/universities with 80% enrolment are considered “Priority 2”, those under 80% enrolment are “Priority 1”
– Primary and Secondary school enrolments are not affected
485 temporary graduate visa tips:
If you have just graduated from an Australian university, please take note of the following:
– You must have completed Bachelor degree or above
– Must have studied a minimum of 16 calendar months
– Graduate certificates not considered as part of 500 student +485 temporary graduate visa for Hong Kong stream
– Graduate diplomas are considered if completed within same or next academic year and are related to your qualification
– You must apply in Australia
– You must apply 6 months from the date stated on your completion letter from your university
– Must have completed IELTS or equivalent and have overall score of 6 in the last 12 months
– Have Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC) insurance
– Have AFP (Australia) check completed as well as CNCC (Hong Kong)
