- Seek professional advice from education consultants who have studied in Hong Kong or abroad
- Ask about the schools’ culture, go on school tours
- Ask how you can prepare for the interview and what to expect
- Ask your education consultant about potential places available for your child, ask what connections they have with schools
- If you are unsure of terminology: debenture, capital levy etc., seek advice from your education consultant
- Share information with your consultant so they can evaluate what criteria you as a family want and can subjectively recommend schools
DON’T
- Ask an education consultant to fill in the application form and submit it without consulting you first
- Go to an interview unprepared
- Choose an unqualified education consultant who does not understand the system
- Take copies of essays or pre-written assessments for their applications
- Don’t accept consultancies who will provide forgeries or send another applicant to sit your child’s assessment
