Are you not happy with your HKDSE results or IB Diploma results? Just because you didn’t get your desired result does not mean you cannot study your desired course.
Some of the top universities offer Foundation courses, which can be undertaken. These include Taylors College, which leads to University of Sydney, Trinity College feeds into the University of Melbourne, Monash College offers foundation courses to enter Monash University.
For Taylors College, the minimum is Form 5, 60% average in 4 academic subjects, HKDSE Any recommendation of Category A & C subjects with 1 level 3, 3 level 2. They offers courses in Agricultural Science, Arts, Commerce, Computing, Engineering, Psychology, Science/Law.
For IB Diploma total score 18. The standard program is 52 weeks long and in many cases, students can get credit from their foundation year in their 2nd or 3rd year of university.
Trinity College offers subjects in agriculture, arts, biomedicine, commerce, design, music, Oral Health and Science, students can study 2 core subjects and 3 elective subjects with a guaranteed pathways to the University of Melbourne.
HKDSE requirements are Completion of Form 5 with two subjects at level 3, and two subjects at level 4 (or 15 above pass mark) or Completion of Form 6 with four subjects at level 3 (or 20 above pass mark). For IB Diploma, overall score 23.
Monash College offers Diploma courses in Art and Design, Business, Education studies, Engineering, Information Technology or Science. HKDSE Requirements: Total of the best four subjects (Category A and C only), Diploma Part 1, 8 Diploma Part 1A, 10 or International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma overall 24 IB Diploma program course (IBDPC), 20-22.
As you can see there are many options available to enter a Group of 8 university without a top score.
