International schools – new year, new heads, new campuses in Hong Kong a brief introduction

Summer has flown by, and school is back in session! This means having a look at some of the schools and the changes that have happened over summer…

New Heads

Harrow have officially opened Little Lions Kai Tak Kindergarten with Ms. Nikki Street, the new Principal there. Previously, she was the Head of Early Years at Harrow Zhuhai.  Harrow International School have also welcomed their new principal Ms. Rosie McColl, who was most recently Head of Brighton Girls’ School in the U.K.

Independent Schools Foundation (ISF) Academy welcomed their new principal Dr. Oliver Kraemer. He joins ISF from the Shanghai Concord Bilingual School He is originally from Germany and is a fluent Mandarin speaker.

Christian Alliance International School (CAIS) welcomes Mr. Daniel Schick as Head of School. Daniel was previously Assistant Principal of the High School at CAIS.

French International School (FIS) welcomes Mr. Bertrand Ferret as the new Head of School. He brings 15 years’ experience in multi-stream French International Schools in Saudi Arabia, USA and the UAE.

Shrewsbury International School welcomes Mrs. Priya Kanthan who was formerly Principal at Discovery Mind School. Priya has experience in the UK, Malaysia, India and other international schools in Hong Kong before joining Shrewsbury.

Mr. Chris Jackson joined Discovery Mind as the Principal of both the kindergarten and primary school. He was formerly Principal, at Invictus School (Primary campus) in Tseung Kwan O.

Nord Anglia International School (NAIS) have welcomed a new Head of School Mr. Tim Richardson. He was formerly Principal of The British School of Guangzhou.

Discovery College have welcomed Ms. Chloe Pollack who was ESF’s Head of Education: Curriculum and Learning as Principal.

New campuses

Stamford American School have announced plans to expand in West Kowloon, a purpose built pre-university environment for their high school students

Saint Too Secondary Academy is the feeder school for Bloom KCCA Academy, which is the first school of entrepreneurship in Hong Kong. Currently, they are only open for G7 and G8. They are based in Tai Hang Tung, Kowloon.

There are also ongoing discussions that Nord Anglia international School may open a new campus in Kowloon, stay tuned for more!
