How Do I Prepare For International School Interviews For Year 3 and older

International schools are looking for students who are developmentally at the same age as their peers.

Some common standardised testing systems include CAT4, ISEE, Measurements of Academic progress (MAP). Please note that there is no one system that is better than another. These tests assess children’s English reading, writing, speaking and listening. Some tests also measure their cognitive ability.

There may also be assessments for Mathematics and in the cases of bilingual schools of Chinese (Mandarin).
Please note most international schools will require a reference from the current school and will not offer an assessment or place without one.

It is also common for schools to ask the family to come to the school for an interview with the admissions staff, Vice-Principal or Principal before a final decision is made.
Good luck everyone!
